DOGS ON LEADS
We would like to remind all dog walkers that the Countryside Code requires that dogs are kept under control at all times, especially where there are livestock, wildlife and ground nesting birds. A footpath is normally 1-2 metres wide and that is the only land which people or dogs are legally entitled to be on. Anywhere else is by permission of the landowner. Dogs should be kept on a lead where livestock are grazing.

TREES
If you wish to notify or seek advice about any tree issues, please contact the tree wardens - Richard Ryder 363228 and/or Geoff Scard 353055.
TREE WARDENS
We have two local residents that have been providing free and impartial advise on behalf of the Parish Council for residents regarding trees for 25 years; there is no commercial interests. Richard Ryder and Geoff Scard have, however, decided to gradually retire from this activity whilst two new residents are being briefed and coached. Our sincere thanks to both Geoff and Richard for their dedication and expertise. The two new tree wardens are Nick Shorter and Stuart Riley; thank you for volunteering.
It is likely that up to 90% of the UK's ash trees will become infected with ash die back. Many of these will die and become brittle and dangerous. Tree surgeons could be reluctant to tackle the larger ones because they will be more difficult to dismantle by modern methods. For trees in the Conservation Area, permission must be sought through the normal TVBC application form to fell ash trees which appear to be suffering from die back. It is likely that the TVBC tree officer will inspect any tree which is the subject of such an application and in the process confirm whether or not the tree is affected.
