Our Neighbourhood Plan is progressing...
Introduction
The Government has introduced a ‘Neighbourhood Planning scheme’ which allows Parish residents to have their say regarding our village and its future. Goodworth Clatford needs a Neighbourhood Plan which will summarise the views of the local community in terms of: Development – housing, offices, factories, shops, leisure facilities Infrastructure – green open spaces, play facilities, village shop, schools All development within our local area should meet the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The Government passed the Localism Bill in November 2011. It means that approved Neighbourhood Plans are protected by law and have to be taken into consideration when future development is proposed. Test Valley Borough Council have a requirement to build many additional homes. Most of them are currently planned for Andover, Romsey and other urban areas. However, some will need to be absorbed within the Test Valley villages, and this could include Goodworth Clatford. Help us to get the most out of the life we enjoy in Goodworth Clatford: What matters most to you in what we have here? What aspects of our community need our support and protection? What changes do you want to see, if any? What, if anything, needs to be brought in or developed? Please fill in the questionnaire online, one per elector; it will be used to understand what is the community opinion as a whole. This then provides the basis for the Draft Plan as a reflection of the consensus views of the residents. There will be plenty of further consultation, this is the first step. www. surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Goodworth Further copies of the paper Questionnaire are available from any of the four Village volunteers managing this initiative:
